BWT bestaqua PREMIUM Remineralisation Cartridge

0
BWT bestaqua PREMIUM is a professional remineralisation cartridge developed specifically for optimising reverse-osmosis water, particularly for coffee, tea and other hot beverages. It is designed to be installed downstream of an RO membrane, where it further conditions already demineralised water instead of acting as a standalone filtration system.
The cartridge uses BWT Magnesium Technology. Its purpose is to create a controlled mineral composition in RO-treated water with an emphasis on magnesium, helping provide consistent water characteristics for professional beverage preparation. BWT positions bestaqua PREMIUM specifically as a remineralisation stage after reverse osmosis.
The treatment concept also includes activated carbon and ultrafiltration as part of the final water optimisation stage. In the BWT bestaqua ROC COFFEE system, the bestaqua PREMIUM module is used downstream of the RO membrane to refine and mineralise the permeate before it reaches professional coffee equipment.
BWT bestaqua PREMIUM is therefore suitable for coffee shops, restaurants, hotels and other professional beverage applications where reverse osmosis provides the base water treatment and controlled magnesium remineralisation is required afterwards.

What BWT bestaqua PREMIUM Does

BWT bestaqua PREMIUM is a professional post-RO treatment cartridge designed to optimise reverse-osmosis water for coffee, tea and other hot beverages. It combines magnesium remineralisation with activated-carbon treatment and ultrafiltration in a single downstream treatment stage.

01

BWT Magnesium Technology

The cartridge conditions reverse-osmosis water with magnesium, creating a controlled mineral profile designed for professional beverage preparation.

02

Activated Carbon Treatment

Integrated activated carbon provides an additional polishing stage and helps optimise the sensory characteristics of the treated water.

03

Integrated Ultrafiltration

A final ultrafiltration stage provides an additional hygienic barrier before the treated water is supplied to professional coffee or beverage equipment.

How It Works

How BWT bestaqua PREMIUM Works

The cartridge is installed downstream of a reverse osmosis membrane. It takes low-mineral permeate and performs the final water optimisation before the water reaches the point of use.

1

Reverse Osmosis Water

The upstream RO membrane removes most of the original dissolved salts and provides a stable, low-mineral starting point for the final treatment stage.

2

Magnesium Optimisation

BWT Magnesium Technology adjusts the mineral composition of the RO-treated water with a particular emphasis on magnesium.

3

Carbon & Ultrafiltration

Activated carbon and ultrafiltration provide final polishing and hygienic treatment before the optimised water reaches the connected beverage equipment.

Designed as a Post-RO Treatment Stage

BWT bestaqua PREMIUM is not a complete reverse osmosis system. It is designed to condition permeate that has already been produced by an upstream RO membrane.

In a complete installation, the reverse osmosis stage performs the primary desalination while bestaqua PREMIUM provides the final magnesium remineralisation, activated-carbon treatment and ultrafiltration.

* Actual treated-water characteristics and cartridge performance depend on the quality of the incoming RO permeate, flow rate, operating conditions and the complete system configuration.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Key questions about BWT bestaqua PREMIUM and magnesium remineralisation of reverse-osmosis water.

What is BWT bestaqua PREMIUM?

+

BWT bestaqua PREMIUM is a professional post-RO treatment cartridge designed to optimise reverse-osmosis water using BWT Magnesium Technology together with additional filtration stages.

Is BWT bestaqua PREMIUM a reverse osmosis filter?

+

No. It is installed after reverse osmosis. The upstream RO membrane performs the primary removal of dissolved salts, while bestaqua PREMIUM conditions the resulting permeate.

Why is magnesium added to reverse-osmosis water?

+

Reverse osmosis removes most naturally occurring dissolved minerals. BWT Magnesium Technology is used to create a controlled mineral profile in the treated water rather than leaving it almost completely demineralised.

Is BWT bestaqua PREMIUM designed for coffee?

+

Yes. BWT uses bestaqua PREMIUM as part of its professional coffee-water treatment concept, including in the BWT bestaqua ROC COFFEE system. It can also be used for other compatible hot-beverage applications.

Does BWT bestaqua PREMIUM contain activated carbon?

+

Yes. Activated-carbon treatment is incorporated as part of the final water optimisation stage.

Does the cartridge include ultrafiltration?

+

Yes. An ultrafiltration membrane is included as an additional hygienic treatment stage downstream of the reverse osmosis process.

Can BWT bestaqua PREMIUM be connected directly to tap water?

+

It is intended primarily as a post-treatment cartridge for reverse-osmosis permeate and should therefore be installed downstream of a suitable RO system rather than used as a standalone tap-water filter.

How is bestaqua PREMIUM different from bestmin PREMIUM?

+

bestaqua PREMIUM is focused on downstream optimisation of reverse-osmosis water using BWT Magnesium Technology and is particularly associated with professional coffee and hot beverage applications. bestmin PREMIUM is designed more broadly for remineralising very low-mineral or practically demineralised water.

How is bestaqua PREMIUM different from bestbarista Coffee?

+

Both products are used downstream of reverse osmosis, but they use different treatment concepts. bestbarista Coffee is specifically formulated around a defined coffee-water mineral profile, while bestaqua PREMIUM uses BWT Magnesium Technology together with activated-carbon and ultrafiltration stages.
