BWT Bewamat 75B is a high-capacity simplex water softener designed for softening or partial softening of drinking and service water. It helps reduce limescale formation in pipes, fittings, boilers and connected equipment by removing calcium and magnesium through ion exchange.
The system uses intelligent quantity-dependent regeneration. Based on the programmed water hardness and available softened-water capacity, the controller checks whether the remaining reserve is sufficient for the following day and initiates regeneration when required. If the available capacity is not consumed within four days, the electronic control automatically triggers regeneration.
Bewamat 75B also includes an integrated system that disinfects the ion-exchange resin during regeneration, while spring-loaded non-return valves protect the inlet-side water connections. The 75B model additionally allows two capacity levels to be selected, making it suitable for larger applications with different performance requirements.
With a nominal capacity of 75 m³x°dH, approximately 21 litres of ion-exchange resin, a nominal flow of 1.8 m³/h and a maximum flow of up to 2.5 m³/h, Bewamat 75B is suitable for larger houses, villas and selected commercial applications where a higher treatment capacity is required than from compact residential cabinet softeners.
The system uses regeneration salt conforming to DIN EN 973 Type A. Approximate salt consumption is 3.5 kg per regeneration, with around 128 litres of regeneration water required per cycle. The salt storage capacity is up to 50 kg.
BWT also specifies that a protective particle filter must be installed upstream, no more than 1 metre before the softener, to prevent dirt and corrosion products from entering the system.

How It Works

Reliable Ion-Exchange Softening

Bewamat 75B removes calcium and magnesium ions responsible for water hardness and replaces them with sodium ions. This reduces the tendency of water to form limescale throughout the property.

Regeneration Based on Actual Water Use
