BWT Perla Seta Duplex Water Softener

6150
1350
BWT Perla Seta is a premium duplex water softening system designed for large homes and residential properties with exceptionally high or highly variable water consumption. Its high capacity makes it particularly suitable for properties with multiple bathrooms, rain showers, large bathtubs and other applications where several water outlets may operate simultaneously.
Unlike conventional single-column softeners, Perla Seta uses two ion-exchange columns with an increased volume of exchange material. The system adapts their operation to actual water demand and can operate the columns in parallel when high flow is required. BWT specifies a peak softened-water output of up to 50 litres per minute and a rated flow of 3.0 m³/h at 1 bar pressure loss.
The system uses proven ion-exchange technology. Calcium and magnesium ions responsible for water hardness are exchanged for sodium ions, significantly reducing limescale formation throughout the property. The result is BWT’s so-called Pearl Water, designed to protect plumbing, sanitary fittings and household equipment while providing softer-feeling water for showering, skin and hair.
Perla Seta also integrates a comprehensive water-safety system. AQA Stop can automatically shut off the household water supply when a leak is detected, AQA Guard floor sensors monitor for moisture, and AQA Watch monitors unusual continuous low-flow conditions. Up to 10 AQA Guard sensors can be used for additional protection around the property.
The softener features a 5-inch Multi Info Touch display and connectivity via WLAN, LAN and GSM, allowing integration with the BWT Best Water Home App for system monitoring and management.
With its duplex architecture and high flow capacity, BWT Perla Seta is particularly well suited to large villas and premium residences with high simultaneous water demand, where a conventional single-column softener may become a hydraulic bottleneck.

Why Duplex Matters

Why Duplex Technology Matters in a Large Home

In a large property, the challenge is not only total daily water consumption. Peak demand matters just as much. Perla Seta uses two ion-exchange columns to provide greater flexibility when multiple bathrooms and fixtures are used simultaneously.

Perla Seta Advantages

Why BWT Perla Seta Is Different from a Conventional Water Softener

Perla Seta is not simply a larger water softener. Its duplex architecture, consumption-dependent control and proportional regeneration are designed to provide more available softened water while using regeneration resources only when they are actually needed.

02

Soft Water During Regeneration

When one column is being regenerated, the second column remains available to soften the household water supply.

Column 1 Regeneration
+
Column 2 Softening Water
03

Consumption-Based Regeneration

Regeneration is triggered according to actual treated-water volume rather than simply regenerating on a fixed schedule. Remaining softening capacity can therefore be used more efficiently.

04

Proportional Regeneration

The control system can adapt regeneration according to the remaining capacity of the resin instead of automatically using the same full regeneration cycle every time.

05

Optimised Salt Consumption

A precision brine meter controls the amount of brine required for regeneration. The regeneration process is adapted so that salt and rinse-water consumption are reduced to the required minimum.

06

Optimised Brine Preparation

The system prepares only the amount of brine required for the upcoming regeneration rather than maintaining an unnecessarily large permanent volume of prepared brine.

07

Reduced Stagnation

Adaptive parallel operation helps reduce unnecessary stagnation inside the ion-exchange columns during normal system operation.

08

Automatic Hygiene Management

The control system can initiate regeneration or hygiene-related cycles when required to maintain appropriate operating conditions.

Whole-Home Soft Water

Soft Water Throughout Your Home

Perla Seta uses ion exchange to reduce calcium and magnesium responsible for water hardness, helping protect the property from scale while changing how water behaves throughout the home.

01

Bathrooms & Rain Showers

Reduced hardness helps limit limescale deposits on shower glass, taps, tiles, mixers and premium bathroom fittings.

02

Skin & Hair

Softened water changes how soap and shampoo behave and reduces the mineral residue associated with hard water during showering.

03

Appliances & Plumbing

Reducing calcium and magnesium helps limit scale accumulation inside water heaters, washing machines, dishwashers and other water-using equipment.

04

Easier Cleaning

Less mineral scale means fewer white deposits on glass, taps, sinks and other wet surfaces throughout the property.

Ca / Mg

Ion-Exchange Softening

The system exchanges calcium and magnesium ions responsible for hardness with sodium ions, substantially reducing the tendency of water to form limescale.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Key questions about BWT Perla Seta, duplex water softening and high-flow residential installations.

What is a duplex water softener?

+

A duplex water softener uses two ion-exchange columns instead of one. This provides greater flexibility in handling changing water demand and allows the system to support higher flow rates than many conventional single-column residential softeners.

Why does BWT Perla Seta have two softening columns?

+

The two-column architecture allows Perla Seta to adapt to household water demand, provide high peak flow and maintain softened-water availability while one column is regenerating.

Does the duplex system reduce salt consumption?

+

Perla Seta uses consumption-dependent and proportional regeneration together with controlled brine dosing. This allows regeneration salt and rinse-water use to be adapted to actual operating requirements rather than using an unnecessarily fixed amount for every cycle.

Is soft water available while the system regenerates?

+

Yes. When one ion-exchange column is being regenerated, the second column remains available for water softening.

Is BWT Perla Seta suitable for a large villa?

+

Yes. The system is particularly relevant for larger homes with multiple bathrooms, rain showers, bathtubs and other fixtures that may operate simultaneously. Correct sizing should still be confirmed against actual peak flow and water hardness.

How much water can BWT Perla Seta supply?

+

BWT specifies a rated flow of 3.0 m³/h at a pressure loss of 1 bar and a peak softened-water output of up to 50 litres per minute. These are different operating figures and should not be interpreted as the same performance rating.

Will BWT Perla Seta reduce water pressure?

+

Every water-treatment system creates some hydraulic resistance. The system should therefore be sized according to the property's actual peak flow and available inlet pressure.

Does BWT Perla Seta protect against water leaks?

+

Perla Seta integrates BWT water-safety functions including AQA Stop, AQA Watch and compatibility with AQA Guard moisture sensors.

Can BWT Perla Seta be monitored remotely?

+

The system includes WLAN, LAN and GSM connectivity and supports integration with the BWT digital ecosystem. Available remote monitoring and management functions depend on system setup, registration and network availability.

Can I monitor the salt level?

+

Perla Seta uses an integrated ultrasonic system for monitoring the level of regenerating salt, helping indicate when additional salt may be required.

Does BWT Perla Seta require a pre-filter?

+

Yes. BWT specifies installation downstream of a suitable domestic particle filter to protect the water softener and support reliable operation.

Does Perla Seta remove chlorine or bacteria?

+

No. Its primary function is hardness reduction through ion exchange. Chlorine, sediment and microbiological treatment require appropriate additional filtration or disinfection stages where needed.

How do I know if Perla Seta is correctly sized for my home?

+

Correct sizing depends on local water hardness, peak simultaneous flow, number of bathrooms, household size, actual water consumption and available inlet pressure. A professional site assessment and water analysis should therefore be completed before installation.
